Digita Global Marketing, as a leader in the digital marketing industry, is committed to the advancement of the field in Jamaica. An imperative of this mission is the nurturing of young talent within the digital marketing sphere and ushering in a generation of digital industry leaders equipped to take Jamaica into the future. Through our ten-week internship and training programme Digita expects to offer a range of opportunities for students between 18 - 25 years old seeking to gain insight into the industry.

OBJECTIVES

The objectives of this internship:


  1. Provide a framework for training students and young working professionals in skills necessary to succeed in the digital marketing industry by enhancing their educational experience through practical assignments.

  2. Expose students and young working professionals to the digital marketing industry.

  3. Provide needed work experience for young professionals and upcoming leaders in the digital industries.

  4. Provide Digita Global with feedback from students and young working professionals specializing in various marketing and communications-related fields.



APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS & PROCESS



  • Applicants must be between the ages 18 - 25 years old.

  • Applicants should be interested in the fields of marketing, communication, public relations, journalism, film, advertising or visual communication.


The application process includes the following stages:

  • Stage 1 - Applicants will be asked to complete an online application form (click here), which includes submitting a 3-minute video explaining why they have what it takes to be a Digita Spark Intern.

  • Stage 2 - Finalists will interviewed by a panel of industry experts then final Young Leaders selected.



INTERNSHIP AND TRAINING PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

Internship and Training Programme Structure

The Digita Spark Young Leaders Programme is structured to provide 50% direct on-the-job training and 50% training through workshops and professional development exercises.

The structure includes the following:


  1. Duration: Interns will be enrolled for a period of ten weeks with three cohorts per year—February to April, June to August and October to December.

  2. Match Placement: Each intern’s individual skills and areas of interest will be assessed before they are placed within a department.

  3. Supervisor: Each intern will be assigned a #TeamDigita staff member as a supervisor to guide them in their learning experience and execution of duties.

  4. Training Plan: Each Supervisor and Intern are expected to develop a personalized training plan (based on provided template) which takes into account agreed areas for personal and professional development.

  5. Minimal Admin Work: No intern will be given more than 50% administrative work.

  6. Training Sessions: Facilitated by Digita University, each intern will be expected to participate in three two-hour workshops at the end of weeks three, six and nine of internship. A Certificate in Digital Marketing
    will be provided and training areas will include:
    • Workshop 1 - Digital Marketing & Advertising
    • Workshop 2 - Visual Communications (graphic design, videography and photography)
    •Workshop 3 - Professional Development

  7. End of Service Award: At the end of their internships successful interns may be given End of Service Awards depending on overall performance.
